When my clients first come to therapy they overthink everything. Despite being intelligent, capable, and successful they often never feel “good enough.” They compare themselves to others often. Their minds race with worry that is hard to control. They start to wander if they are going crazy. Breathing becomes difficult. They feel the pressure to have it all together all the time. Since anxiety does not fit in with people pleasing they keep their struggle to themselves.

You want to feel at peace, quiet your mind, socialize, engage in fun activities, and handle your responsibilities with ease, but your anxiety or panic stops you from living the life you want. The mental chatter and feeling of impending doom set in and put your brain through “what if” scenarios, finding the worst outcome every time. You struggle constantly with self doubt and worry.

Everyone goes through anxiety sometimes. It’s a normal part of being human. We all get a little nervous when we try something new or face challenges. However, when out-of-control anxiety or panic attacks interfere with your life and get in the way of relationships, school, or work, then it’s a great idea to engage in the help you deserve.
